Hello Livejournal-land and welcome to my introduction post! I created this journal mainly to join many figure skating communities. I will also hopefully post about my trials and tribulations while learning the Russian language, because that's how I roll. I actually tried learning Russian about a decade ago, when I was just a wee lass of 12 or 13, but the Cyrillic alphabet scared me off and I settled on learning Spanish, lol. Let's hope it sticks this time :)

If you think we have something in common, or even if we don't, add me and I'll add you back. I will try and comment as much as I can :)

Le Sigh. I am having problems. I have been practicing my cursive letters like a fiend but I have run into some issues.

I am unimpressed. I am finding it very difficult to identify the following letters when they are joined in their cursive form -- л м и ш.

Wow, starting a Livejournal is hard work. I've been googling all afternoon to find decent tutorials so I can make a nifty custom layout - LOL, and by custom layout I mean change the picture at the top :) Now I just need to decide if I want Johnny, or my BB Stéphane up there -- or maybe both?

I also want to add a bunch of icons, but I've been saving them to my pics folder and I don't have a clue who made them. Not smart. I don't want to thread on anyone's toes so I'm not sure what to do. I was thinking of adding a "let me know if this is yours so I can credit you" note in the icon's description but that probably isn't proper icon etiquette. *sigh*

I don't know if I am going to splurge on a paid account. There doesn't seem to be a big difference between what I have now and a paid account. I think the only benefit for me would be to have more icons. Since I use firefox with adblock plus I don't see any ads so that isn't much of an incentive for me.
